Disingenuous does not even begin to describe Jim Wallis. I can only pray that I will be present on the day Jimmy stands before God and attempts to justify himself with the same half truths, innuendo, fallacious, deceptive, erroneous and misleading tripe that proliferates all of his commentary not just his most recent Blog “defense” of Barack Hussein Obama.

Barack Hussein Obama is what he is. The son of a Muslim father and atheist mother, step-son of a Muslim, raised in Indonesia an Islamic country. He himself has stated that he is uniquely qualified to address Islamic leaders because of his background. He attends a church that practices divisiveness by preaching a call to black hegemony that if practiced in a white church would be deemed racists. Further, said church leader and pastor gave a lifetime achievement award to Louis Farrakhan of Nation of Islam fame (infamy).

The church is more Afro-centric and politically active than most black congregations and Obama has distanced himself from the political views of its dominant figure, recently retired pastor Jeremiah Wright.” (wikipedia)

This of course begs the question, “What was his religious background during the first 27 years of his life?”  Also, was his conversion of the Damascus road or the politically expedient variety? There is a chapter in his book, The Audacity of Hope, (inspired by Jeremiah Wright, the above mentioned pastor) where Barack Hussein Obama details how in his twenties, while working with local churches as a community organizer, came to understand "the power of the African American religious tradition to spur social change:

“It was because of these newfound understandings—that religious commitment did not require me to suspend critical thinking, disengage from the battle for economic and social justice, or otherwise retreat from the world that I knew and loved—that I was finally able to walk down the aisle of Trinity United Church of Christ one day and be baptized.” (wikipedia)

I would take that to mean that it was politically expedient.

What do we really know about this man? Not much, really. He is a shining example of the Latin phrase "deus ex machina" which has its origins in the conventions of Greek tragedy. It refers to situations in which a machine (crane) was used to lower actors playing a god or gods onto the stage. “Like a comic-book superhero, Obama is there to help, out of the sheer goodness of a heart we need not know or understand.
